Cutting, Copying and Pasting Cards

In addition to the standard Windows cut/copy/paste functions which operate on a single data entry field at a time, LOGDRAFT also supports cutting/copying and pasting entire data entry cards.

To cut a card or range of cards from the tabulated section of the data entry form:

1. Click on the number of the card to be cut (the number is shown jutting out from the left side of the card).
2. If you want to cut more than one card, continue clicking on the numbers for the other cards to be cut. You must click on the numbers in sequential order.
3. When all of the cards to be cut are highlighted, choose Edit > Cut Card.

To move a card or range of cards from one source folder to another:

1. Open the source folder holding the card(s) to be moved.
2. Follow the directions for cutting cards given above.
3. Open the source folder where the card(s) are to be placed.
4. Click on the number of a card: LOGDRAFT will insert the new cards above that card.
5. Choose Edit > Paste Card.

To copy a card or range of cards:

1. Click on the number of the card to be copied (the number is shown jutting out from the left side of the card).
2. If you want to copy more than one card, continue clicking on the numbers for the other cards to be cut. You must click on the numbers in sequential order.
3. When all of the cards to be copied are highlighted, choose Edit > Copy Card.
4. If the cards will be copied to a different source folder, open that folder.
5. Click on the number of a card: LOGDRAFT will insert the new cards above that card.
6. Choose Edit > Paste Card.

Copying or deleting a card also affects any data entered into that card using one of the GEOSYSTEM laboratory testing modules.
