Pan Mass
After you've entered a sieve stack, you can optionally enter the mass passing the smallest sieve in the stack (as captured by a pan below the stack). If you enter this value, LabSuite can calculate:
- The percentage of material "lost" during sieving. This is calculated by taking the original sample weight and subtracting the pan weight plus the sum of the material retained on all of the sieves in the sieve stack.
- The total percentage of the sample lost during the testing process. If the sample was washed then dried before sieving (D6913 tests only), LabSuite will add the missing sieving material to the material washed out to determine the total material loss.
